I got my first camera in 1976, a Zenith E, a hand me down from my brother. A friend educated me on F. stops and shutter speeds.
In the mid 80’s I joined Upminster Camera Club, and did stints as Programme Secretary and Outings Secretary.
Between 2000 & 2007 other things got in the way, and my membership lapsed I rejoined in 2007.
I’m currently the Print Competition Secretary
My current equipment is Nikon D850.
A couple of Zoom lenses that take me from 18 to 300mm
A Tamron 90mm Macro Lens & set of Kenko Extension Tubes.
A A3 Light Pad & a couple of cheap and cheerful Soft Boxes
I mainly take pictures of flowers & gardens and like to play with abstracts.

Taken in my back garden, at a reasonable hour in the morning, the flower is growing in front of a fence panel sized mirror that is permanently attached to the fence.
I focused on the flower and chose a large aperture so that the flower stood out from the dark abstract background. A spot of colour in the middle of a dark image.
Post Processing: Lightroom, small adjustments to exposure, sharpening and vignetting.
